New Years Eve in the NBA and NFL

Posted by Ryan

Two more NBA plays for this New Years Eve.

Phoenix -3 (+100)
Phoenix is playing their 3rd in 4 and played last night on the road. They, however, should still handle the Bulls.

San Antonio Spurs / Denver Nuggets OVER 193 (-107)
Camby is out for this game and Denver loves to run and gun. Look for plenty of easy layups. This total should hit 200+.

One NFL play for this New Years Eve.

New York Giants / Oakland Raiders UNDER 41 (-110)
Look for plenty of running from the Giants. I like for the Raiders to be looking ahead to tonight’s festivities to really care as this is most likely Turner’s last game.

Early New Years Eve NBA

One play on the early game.

Cleveland +124
Detroit is 12-2 on the road and Cleveland is 12-3 at home. This should be a PICK’EM at worst for Cleveland.

NFL Week 17 - Carolina Panthers @ Atlanta Falcons

Posted by Ryan

Atlanta Falcons +165

The Carolina Panthers have blown plenty of opportunities to secure a playoff spot. It looks as if that will finally catch up with them in this game.

Atlanta was embarassed in Charlotte earlier this year when these two teams met. Has Carolina really “solved” Atlanta? In an even game maybe Carolina does win this more often than not, but motivation will not be enough for them in this game.

Carolina’s starting MLB Morgan and starting center will most likely miss this game. Throw in the probability that another injured offensive linemen (Reyes) won’t play along with the top two running backs being on the injury report this week (Foster and Goings), so Carolina will be severly limited in this game.

This is a great price for Atlanta given the matchup circumstances. Atlanta is upset they didn’t make the playoffs, and they would like nothing more than to do all they can to force Carolina into the same fate.

Don’t look for Carolina to wind up in the post season tournament as both Dallas and Washington should win their games.

Ended up hitting a parlay last night… finally. :-D As I said before I don’t expect to hit them often, just enough over the long term to make a profit. 8)

Small card today with just two plays. No parlay.

New Orleans Hornets +13 (+100)
This game is most likely decided within double digits. Spurs haven’t dominated too many teams recently. Even though New Orleans isn’t in the upper tier of teams in the NBA they should keep this game more competitive than most would think.

Seattle SuperSonics / Denver Nuggets OVER 210 (-106)
Denver loves to run and gun at home and Seattle has no problem playing that type of game. Seattle is playing their 3rd in 4 with their most recent coming last night, but in this case I like for it to make them be even more lax on defense and let plenty of points be scored.

Christmas in the NBA

Just two games on this holiday. Not much value out, it seems. :-D

LA Lakers +6.5 (-102)
This game should be a PICK’EM. This game should be decided by a last second shot.

Barely got the win last night with the Mavs/Kings UNDER. A few meaningless fouls dunks at the end made it the nail biter it shouldn’t have been.

Pacers vs. CavsAs I mentioned before I will be playing parlays to help reduce my risk without reducing my possible return. For today’s big card I have 12 plays wrapped in four 3-team parlays.

At the time I locked into these parlays I was unable to parlay money lines. Had I been able to I would have parlayed the Pacers ML instead of the 4.5 points. They routed Cleveland at home, but should still be a slight favorite to win this game.

Parlay #1 - Odds: +603
Phoenix Suns -8.5 -105
Toronto +12 -110
Houston Rockets / Denver Nuggets OVER 185.5 -110

Parlay #2 - Odds: +603
Philadelphia -3.5 -110
LA Lakers -1.5 -110
Washington Wizards / Phoenix Suns UNDER 209.5 -110

Parlay #3 - Odds: +573
Chicago Bulls +7.5 -110
New Orleans Hornets +6.5 -115
Portland Trailblazers / Minnesota Timberwolves UNDER 174 -110

Parlay #4 - Odds: +600
New Jersey +7 -110
Indiana Pacers +4.5 -110
Golden State Warriors / Detroit Pistons OVER 200.5 -110
