FAQ

Who in the hell are you?

To learn more about me, see the about page.

Do you sell picks?

No. The sports touting industry is a haven for scam artists, so it’s not an industry I wish to take part in. I expect all bets I post on this blog to have a positive expected value, so if you can find the same (or better) price then you have a worthwhile bet. Unfortunately, this is a concept most people that sell picks either don’t understand or blindly ignore.

That said, I do accept donations to help pay for school. So if you find my blog helpful, consider chipping in!

Where can I find your historical results?

For past season results, see the results page. For in season results, see the appropriate links under the Investment Results heading on the left hand side of the page.

What does % of Bankroll under each bet mean?

Every bet posted on this blog is made based on a perceived edge, so I use the Kelly criterion to determine how much to bet based on this edge. To reduce volatility and prevent over betting, I use a 1/3rd Kelly stake, which is simply 0.33% of the optimal full Kelly stake.

I list the % of Bankroll for each bet because the actual unit amount wagered changes as my bankroll fluctuates. As such, to get an idea as to how much the bet is truly worth the actual percentage of my bankroll that I bet is shown.

To calculate the size of a bet using the Kelly criterion see the Kelly Criterion Calculator.
