Poisson Calculator

This tool will allow you to calculate the probability of an event occuring by using a poisson distribution.

To use this calculator properly, the event must occur one at a time. Examples of these types of events are goals in a hockey game and field goals or sacks in a football game.

Usage: Enter the average number of events you expect to occur along with the number of occurrences to calculate odds for, and click the Calculate button.

Example: You expect, on average, for there to be 2.25 field goals in a given game. The posted line is OVER/UNDER 3.5 field goals for the entire game. To calculate the odds of at least 4 field goals, enter 4. To calculate the odds of at most 3 field goals, enter 3.
